Elizabeth Catez was born on July 18th 1880 at a military camp near Bourges, France. Among the gifts she offers us today, Elizabeth entrusts us with the gift of faith In a letter written just a few weeks before her death 1906, this young Carmelite nun wrote to her friend Antoinette: My beloved Antoinette, I leave you my faith in the presence of God, of the God who is all Love dwelling in our souls. I confide to you: it is this intimacy with Him within that has been the beautiful sun illuminating my life, making it already an anticipated heaven. Elizabeth presents a message that endures that God not only loves us, He is our companion on our journey and not only loves us bit loves us to excess. She wishes us to experience His exceeding Great Love.

I am going to give you my secret , think about this God who lives within you. She writes to her mother: Oh, may the Master reveal to you, His Divine Presence . . it gives so much strength, to believe that God loves us to the point of living in us, to become the Companion of our exile, our Confidant, our Friend at every moment”.

The Trinity is our true Home, the Father s house which we must never leave.

Elizabeth, our sister and friend saw each of us as the dwelling place of the Trinity. May Elizabeth encourages each one of us to ‘fan into flame’ the gift which has been entrusted to us.
